"The Young and the Restless," a Daytime Emmy award-winning soap, has reportedly slipped in ratings in recent years and although it is still the most watched soap opera in the U.S., producers are said to be open to Longoria's return to help boost slipping ratings, according to TVbytheNumbers.

Longoria's career is not the only aspect of her life that is currently experiencing changes. The 37-year-old recently ended her year-long relationship with Eduardo Cruz, 26, and has reportedly already moved on.

The twice-divorced actress is reportedly dating New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, 25, according to In Touch Magazine.

"It looks like they're testing the waters," a source told In Touch, after the duo was spotted shopping at a Kings supermarket in Bedminster, N.J., on June 4th.

The following evening the pair was seen dining with friends at New York's Hotel Griffou, where Longoria donned a blonde wig in a likely attempt to disguise her appearance.

"They were laughing and having a great time," another source said.

A representative for Cruz- the brother of actress Penelope Cruz- confirmed that he and Longoria are no longer in a relationship on June 28, according to Us Weekly Magazine.

Longoria began dating Cruz in 2011 months after announcing her divorce from NBA star Tony Parker, whom she married in 2007.

Prior to Parker she was married to Tyler Christopher, a 39-year-old actor who is best known for his role on popular soap opera "General Hospital."

Longoria also made several appearances on "General Hospital" prior to landing her gig on "Desperate Housewives."
