Evangelical leaders condemn Capitol protest violence: 'Dangerous for our republic'

Similarly, fellow evangelical political activist Ralph Reed, who leads the Christian conservative grassroots organization Faith & Freedom Coalition, posted on Twitter that the violence is unacceptable. 

“The violence at the U.S. Capitol is an assault on democracy and representative government,” he stressed. “Resort to mob violence has no place in the life of our nation, and I condemn and repudiate it.”

Reed, 59, went on to add that the violence on display “does not represent our movement or the cause of Christ.”
