Evelyn Lozada Baby Boy Named After LA Dodgers Star Fiance Carl Crawford; 'His Beautiful Face is Breathtaking!'
Evelyn Lozada gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Saturday and reports claim he has been named after his MLB star father, Carl Crawford.
Lozada and Crawford, who began dating last year, welcomed the birth of baby Carl Leo Crawford Jr on March 22 and he weighed in at 8lbs and is 21 inches long. The "Basketball Wives" star, 38, and and Los Angeles Dodgers star, 32, are said to be thrilled following the birth of their first child together.
"I have EXCITING NEWS! Thank you God for my blessing!" Lozada tweeted after her natural labor.
"Just wanted to thank all of u for ur loving tweets today! Means so much to me! LOVE ALL OF U!" another tweet read.
Crawford reportedly named the baby boy and Lozada is said to be doing well after what she described as being a "quick" labor.
"Carl named the baby. Carl is a Leo. He wanted the baby to have every aspect of his name," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
Lozada, who was previously married to former NFL player Chad Johnson, 34, has as a 20-year-old daughter Shaneice from a previous relationship. She and Crawford announced their engagement on Christmas day.
"I'm literally on cloud nine! My baby boy is so handsome and I'm so geeked!" Lozada told "The Insider."
"I have been waiting for this little man to arrive and seeing his beautiful face is breathtaking," Lozada told "The Insider's" Nina Parker, adding, "Thank God he came out quick."
The Bronx native took to social networking site Instagram last year to share a photo of her 14.5 carat diamond sparkler alongside the caption "YES!" to confirm her engagement. The ring, which was custom made by Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, has a 10-carat emerald cut center stone and is reportedly worth $1.4 million, according to DailyMail U.K.
"I definitely would get married again. I still believe in love … I'm not one of those people that's like 'we need to get engaged, we need to get married.' No, absolutely not," she said. "I feel like that's going to come, just like with the baby, let it come. I'm not forcing anything, so if it happens, it happens."
The Vh1 star was once engaged to retired NBA star Antoine Walker.
