Evelyn Lozada Engaged to Carl Crawford; Reality Star Debuts $1.4 Million Engagement Ring (PHOTO)
Evelyn Lozada debuted her brand new engagement ring on Wednesday following a surprise proposal from Los Angeles Dodgers star Carl Crawford.
The "Basketball Wives" star, who is currently six months pregnant, took to social networking site Instagram on Christmas day to share a photo of her 14.5 carat diamond sparkler alongside the caption "YES!"
The ring, which was custom made by Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, has a 10 carat emerald cut center stone and is reportedly worth $1.4 million, according to DailyMail UK.
"[Evelyn] wasn't expecting a proposal at all... it took Evelyn by surprise," Lozada's rep told People magazine.
Lozada, 38, is expecting her first child with the MLB star, who is currently under contract of four more seasons at $86 million. The Vh1 star has a 20-year-old daughter Shaniece from a previous relationship.
"I'm overjoyed and in complete and utter shock!" Lozada said. "What a different year and a half it has been – I'm truly happy!"
Lozada and Crawford have reportedly been dating for close to one year. Their baby is due in March 2014.
The pair sparked dating rumors in April when the reality TV star was spotted at a Dodgers game, according to HipHollywood. They were also allegedly spotted together more recently during an outing in October.
Prior to Crawford Lozada was married to disgraced NFL player Chad Johnson, 35. They split after just one month of marriage due to a domestic violence incident.
The Bronx native was also once engaged to retired NBA star Antoine Walker, 37. The 3-time NBA All Star infamously lost approximately $110 million over 13 seasons in the NBA -a devastating loss that he attributes to bad investments and a lavish lifestyle.
Despite her failed relationships Lozada recently revealed that she still believes in love and marriage.
"I still believe in love … I'm not one of those people that's like, 'We need to get engaged, we need to get married.' No, absolutely not," she told omg! Insider. "I feel like that's going to come, just like with the baby, let it come. I'm not forcing anything, so if it happens, it happens."
Lozada confirmed her pregnancy in November.
"I am so excited to announce a wonderful blessing — I'm pregnant!" she told People. "I'm excited about being a mommy all over again. This is something I've been wanting for years and I can't believe it's finally happening."
