Evelyn Lozada Flees Country With Daughter After Dispute With Chad Johnson?

Evelyn Lozada, "Basketball Wives" star who was engaged in a domestic dispute with estranged husband and current NFL free agent Chad Johnson, has reportedly fled the country with her daughter to escape the media attention stemming from a domestic dispute that took place between the two.

Lozada, 36, has reportedly taken her daughter Shaniece Hairston, 18, to Barbados to escape the media, according to TMZ. Lozada has been featured in numerous news outlets since her Aug. 11 altercation with Johnson, in which she accused him of head-butting her.

While Lozada filed for divorce from Johnson after exchanging nuptials on July 4, the pair have both received some backlash from the incident. While the estranged couple was supposed to be featured in a joint reality television show on VH1, the network decided to cancel the show called "Ev and Ocho."

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement.

The estranged newlyweds may also be in legal trouble after reportedly accepting $90,000 from the government in the northeast Caribbean island of St. Maarten.

The island's government and tourism board looked to receive publicity from the "Ev and Ocho" show, but now that it is canceled St. Maarten Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams said that each member of the Council of Ministers is looking into the matter. The government could take legal action to regain the money spent on the wedding for a couple that separated in less than two months.

"When someone is investing in business it's a risk they are taking and if something happens then they will have to deal with the consequences," Williams said in a SMNnews report. "Naturally, we have a contract with Johnson and Lozada and that contract has some clauses inside of it and St. Maarten will use those clauses if necessary."

While Johnson has taken a hiatus from Twitter, TMZ reports that he has also left the country to get away from the large amount of media attention.
