Ex-Islam Minister now a 'Bible-Quoting Baptist'
Once a fiery leader in the National of Islam now became a Christian preacher. Conrad Tillard, who was a keen black nationalist, has converted to Christianity after five years and now he became a bible-quoting Baptist, The New York Times reported.
He told the newspaper that "I knew God had been calling me. It's been so long time, but I finally came home." He was known as Conrad Muhammad when he was the chief representative of the Nation in New York and also was a leader of Mosque No. 7 in Harlem, New York. He sometimes showed his view toward the white man by expressing them as devil.
"The faith toward God was already in my heart. But I had so many questions and doubts."

Now he is a Baptist minister at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would often preach when he was in town. He started preaching two months ago as one of the church's preacher. Calvin O. Butts III, the Abyssinian Baptist Church's pastor said of Tillard, "I think he has found that his strength and effectiveness of his ministry are best presented only through the Gospels. He is an extremely bright and talented person."
