The company intends to establish an entirely different department with its expansion.
The Daily News reports that the company will broaden its operations by adding a new roster of engineers to improve features and write new code for the website, which links more than 800 million users worldwide.
As a result the tech mogul will be opening an engineering center on Madison Avenue which will be the first such office for Facebook outside the West Coast, according to the Wall Street Journal.
As it turns out Facebook won’t be the only new face of the social networking industry on Madison Avenue.
Earlier in October the AP reported that Twitter hired new staff and established a headquarters on Madison Avenue as well.
Technology jobs have outpaced the overall rate of new employment in the United States by nearly four times in the past year, according to a recent Forbes report.
