Facebook Hack: Who is Courtney Zito?

Earlier this week Facebook was under heavy attack for two or three days as the popular social networking site became the victim of a severe hacking spree affecting a majority of users on the site. From that fallout it now seems one user, Courtney Zito, became the voice of the masses as she was repeatedly quoted on numerous websites and television news programs.

So just who is this Courtney Zito the media has been talking about?

The story begins with Zito answering a question posed by the Christian Post. The site asked, "How's everyone doing with the Facebook hacks? Trying to do a story on it. Has anyone been hacked or received hacked stuff?" to which Zito replied, "I have 5000 friends. My feed is littered with porn. I can't even check my news feed with anyone around because of it."

She continued, "Just saw one with a guy who had his skull bashed in and his brains on the street. Besides the countless naked girls. I'm about ready to deactivate..."

From there, Zito's quotes were picked up by news organizations like Gawker and Huffington Post, all the way down to ABC and Perez Hilton.

The publicity for Zito is a very welcome surprise as she has been trying to break into the movie and television industry for almost a decade playing bit parts on TV shows, movies, and on "True Jackson." She posted on her Facebook, "Seriously, this whole thing has just exploded. I have been out here 10 years trying to get this kind of publicity and who gives it to me? The Facebook hackers lol. Go figure."

Zito is a director, producer, script-writer, and actress currently working a number of projects. Her first project is "Hollywood Girl," a YouTube series where she plays the main character, Quinn Monroe. She directs, writes, producers, and stars in the comedy that's a cross between "Sex and the City," and "Entourage."

According to an interview with Thesibandguy, Zito pitched the show as a feel good series and said, "If you're looking for a light hearted, quirky comedy, based on real life circumstances in love, friendships and the Entertainment Industry, and that's full of physical comedy and a pretty hot cast, then you will love 'Hollywood Girl’."

Zito shared with The Christian Post her latest project: "Last night I finished writing my first screenplay. I have been working on a feature length script with a co-writer.. It's a dark thriller that takes place in a fictional town in Nebraska. We begin production in 2012 through my production company La Dolce Zito Productions."

Another project is for "Doritos Presents: Crash the Superbowl," a contest where independent film makers have the chance to create their own Doritos commercial and enter it in for competition to be aired during the Superbowl.

She also, wrote, directed, and acted in the commercial. Judging begins Nov. 21 and the top five are selected for the big game.
