'Fairy Tail' Chapters 525, 526 Spoilers: Mavis Devises a Plan as Zeref vs Natsu Battle Continues

"Why Was His Majesty's Child Not Loved?" was the 525th chapter of the long-running manga series "Fairy Tail." In the end, the question was not answered, but was instead reaffirmed when Zeref attacked his own son, Larcade.

Chapter 525 saw the continuation of the battle between Gildarts and August, and Zeref and Natsu. August went on provoking Gildarts by threatening the life of the latter's daughter, Cana, who was also in the battlefield to assist. The immense concern Gildarts was showing for his daughter's well-being led August to question the almost non-existent bond between Zeref and Larcade.

"Why was his majesty's child not loved?" he kept asking as Zeref and Natsu's battle went on at the Fairy Tail guild's headquarters. Zeref was so consumed with his will to end Natsu's life that he became a slave to the so-called Contradictory Curse. This is a type of black magic brought upon by Ankhseram, which gives its caster near-absolute immortality, but also messes up his psyche to the point that his feelings and actions become contradictory. It was at this point that Larcade came in and attempted to help, only to be struck through the heart by his own father's magic.

A new chapter of "Fairy Tail" titled "My Name Is..." comes out next week on the "Weekly Shounen Jump" magazine.

Meanwhile, the official trailer for the upcoming movie "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" has been released. The subtitled trailer reaffirms what has previously been reported that the series is finally heading towards its climax. It also teases a scene wherein Natsu seems to have started transforming into a dragon. Could this be the infamous Etherious dragon E.N.D.?

According to Anime News Network, the manga creator Hiro Mashima himself will be serving as executive producer for the movie, and has even been at the head of the creative team.

"Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" is set to hit theaters in Japan on May 6.
