Faith-Based Film 'Only God Can' Wins Indie Fest Film Award for Excellence
The new faith-based film "Only God Can" has received the Indie Fest Film Award of Excellence under the Christian category at its annual awards show.
The inspirational faith-based film focuses on the lives of five long-time friends who are struggling to make it through life's escalating challenges after a tragic, life-changing event threatens to break them apart. They soon discover that, through faith, only God can empower them to overcome the obstacles they face and become the people they truly hope to be.
The film was made specifically for and about Christian women and is meant to be a beacon of light that encourages viewers to exemplify Christ's love and commitment in their lives.
"Only God Can" stars Lisa Sheridan ("Sandal" and "CSI") as Sara, Donna D'Errico ("Austin Powers" and "Reno 911") as Coley, Robbi Chong ("ER" and "The Cosby Show") as Patrice, Vanessa Evigan ("How I Met Your Mother") as Gracie, and Greg Evigan ("B. J. and the Bear" and "My Two Dads") as Pastor Rodney.
"Those who see 'Only God Can' will get clarity of spirit as it relates to being helpers one to another," said Linda Flannery, founder of Inspire Entertainment, which produced the film, in a statement to The Christian Post. "Many times we think because some seem to have it all, they don't need any help. But that is farther from the truth. As portrayed in 'Only God Can,' it boils down to strength, support, unconditional love … and deliverance like only God can."
In its seventh year, the Indie Fest Film Awards is a cutting edge worldwide competition for independent films. Along with being named for excellence at Indie Fest, "Only God Can" was also an official selection at the 20th anniversary of the International Family Film Festival at Raleigh Studios and is an official selection at the 2016 Inspired Faith Film Festival, which will announce its winners in February.
