Kittens are born with an innate trust that their mothers will feed them, protect them and help them survive this cold, hard world. To them, mama is everything.

So, these eight kitties got a surprise when their protector, their idol tried to leap up on a counter and came up short. When she flops to the ground, they scatter as if their young lives depended on it. One moment, you see a litter of adorable kittens; the next, they're gone.
