Fallout 4 News: Game To Be Released in 2015?
It's been four years since the last installment of Fallout and fans are wondering whether Fallout 4 will ever be released.
Although this has not yet been confirmed, Cinemablend reports that Bethesda Game Studios may have started working on the game as early as February 2012. The website reports that the company has hired programmers that month for an unannounced game on future-generation consoles, and this could be for Fallout 4 instead of another installment in the Elders Scroll series, which the company has developed as well.
"Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio's full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet," Bethesda said.
In 2012, a Reddit user claimed that Bethesda was scouting for locations throughout Boston for the game. Though Boston isn't one of the settings in previous Fallout games, the location was mentioned in Fallout 3 side quests.
Another clue that points to the likelihood of a fourth installment comes from voice actor Erik Todd Dellums, who provided the voice of disc jockey Three Dog in Fallout 3.
In an interview with Cinemablend, Dellums suggested that he would reprise his role for Fallout 4'.
"I let [Bethesda] know that fans were clamoring, trying to figure out if there's any chance that Three Dog would be back some time," said Dellums. "And, you know, they let it slip that it looks like Three Dog will. And they said that, 'Well, maybe you could tell your fans.'"
If one were to predict the release date of Fallout 4 based on Bethesda's history of game releases, then it would be safe to say that the game could make its debut by November 2014 for the PS4 and Xbox One. If the game makers are planning for a release for the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well, then a 2015 release seems much more realistic.
