'Family Guy' Season 13 Premiere to Feature Crossover With The Simpsons

Season 13 of "Family Guy" will start off with a crossover with another famous animated family—The Simpsons.

For the first time ever, the Simpsons family and the Griffin clan will share the screen when the latter find themselves in Springfield.

FOX has released a five-minute footage of the episode, titled "The Simpsons Guy," and it looks like some members of the two families will hit it off, while others will be battling it out for issues such as, which is the best beer ever.

At first everyone seems to get along, but then Peter and Homer get into a disagreement over which tastes better between their favorite beers, Pawtucket Patriot Ale and Duff Beer. Homer calls Peter's Patriot Ale as "a lousy rip-off of Duff," while Peter quips that "it may have been inspired by Duff, but I like to think it goes in a different direction."

In the exchange between the two characters, it's almost as if the creators of both shows, Matt Groening and Seth MacFarlane, are making sly allusions to their respective shows. MacFarlane is a Simpson's fan, and he reportedly has created "Family Guy" along the same lines as The Simpsons, but it's definitely more risqué and has more of an edge than Matt Groening's cartoon series.

Since the crossover episode has been announced, Homer and Peter have issued statements in the promos.

"FOX hasn't spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping," said Peter.

"Finally, I can get my hands on this guy!" said Homer.

The crossover episode will air in the U.S. on Sept. 28 as the one hour season 13 premiere of "Family Guy."
