Fan-Mixed Track 'Materia' Comprising Of 88 Songs Releases Ahead Of 'Final Fantasy VII' Remake.
Even though no announcement has been made for the release of the highly-anticipated "Final Fantasy VII" remake, fans have made their own soundtrack.
The Materia for "Final Fantasy VII" remixed is a 5-disc collection containing a whopping 88 songs that fans have put together in honor of Nobuo Uematsu's soundtrack. This astonishing soundtrack has the collective talents of over 200 musicians. This group includes famous YouTube performers, renowned remixers and composers.
Materia Collective founder and album producer Sebastian Wolff said in a statement, "'MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed' is the album we have always wanted to exist. It is more than a cover album; it is a collection of individual musical tributes from nearly 200 artists, collaborating to create a massive five-disc tribute to one of the most beloved games and soundtracks of all time."

Previous fan-made remixes are "Zelda Orchestrated" and "OverClocked ReMix." The present "Materia" honors the original "FF7" soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu and according to Siliconera, the album of 88 songs is from a wide genre of music schools."Materia" contains character-based songs that pay homage to some favourites like Aerith, One-Winged Angel, etc.
Meanwhile, updates on the status of the "Final Fantasy VII" Remake are coming in and it is still in the experimentation stage as the 'combat' needs to be made fresh and new.
Producer Yoshinori Kitase told Famitsu (via Gematsu) that they are changing the combat because it was felt there was a need to update the old turn-based battle system.
Kitase said, "We're starting to see the visual direction. On the other hand, we're currently working out the battle system and such through trial-and-error. Since there's a possibility that the command battle system of the old days might not work today, we're thinking hard about what kind of direction we can take it."
The need to change the combat system is what may be delaying the release of the "Final Fantasy VII Remake." That may be a good thing as according to The Federalist, the Remake of "Final Fantasy VII" will have a lot of changes to upgrade it from the original yet keep it in a recognizable form for fans of "Final Fantasy" games.
