Fantasia Barrino Not Thinking Album Sales, But Blessing Others Before Release
Fantasia Barrino, the 28-year-old singer, is preparing to release her fourth studio album, Side Effects of You, but she insists that album sales are not as important as getting her message out to others who have shared in her struggles.
"I am the woman I am today, smarter and wiser and now I can share it with somebody else and say, 'Hey listen, no matter what you go through, there's always that point where you'll win again,'" Barrino told Yahoo! OMG of overcoming her struggles.
Barrino is gearing up to release her fourth album Tuesday, but insisted that she is not looking for monetary gain upon its release. Instead, she wants her music to serve as a blessing for others.
"But I almost lost my life getting all wrapped up in all of this stuff. And my life is more important than any of this stuff right here," Barrino told Yahoo! "It's not about a dollar to me, it's not about a position to me. I just want to bless people with my music and my story."
While the singer has been promoting her new single "Lose to Win" along with her upcoming album, she has also speaking about her new outlook on life.
"God put me here for a reason," Barrino told "Access Hollywood" recently. "When you look on TV or turn on the radio or all the newspapers and the magazines, it was always something negative, and no matter how many things I did that were positive that never came out, so that was the hardest for me at that time. Now I really don't care anymore."
The singer said she has found an inner peace and is focusing on serving as an inspiration to people these days.
"I had to just find peace," she told "Access Hollywood." "The people who go through things everyday, normal things, we're all human. So for me, if I can just help 10 people and five don't like it, as long as I have those 10, I'm good to go."
