'Fantastic Beasts 2' News, Release Date: New Cast Members Include Jessica Williams; Nicolas Flamel to Appear

The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" sequel has added more names to its cast roster, and they have got fans excited.

According to Pottermore, a handful of actors have been tapped to play characters in the upcoming sequel.

Brontis Jodorowsky will be playing Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist who discovered the Elixir of Life and was first mentioned in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." Derek Riddell and Poppy Corby-Tuech will be portraying Torquil Travers and Rosier, respectively. Their surnames are noteworthy because some Death Eaters in the "Harry Potter" series had the same last names.

Another new cast member is Jessica Williams, who is known for her work on "The Daily Show." Williams took to social media to confirm the news and share her excitement. However, her role in the film has not yet been revealed.

Rounding out the new cast are Wolf Roth as Spielman, Victoria Yeates as Bunty, Cornell S. John as Arnold Guzman, and Fiona Glascott as an undisclosed character. Deadline also revealed in September that David Sakurai would be portraying Krall, one of Grindelwald's henchmen.

Eddie Redmayne will be reprising his role as magizoologist Newt Scamander. Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol will also be back to play sisters Tina and Queenie Goldstein, respectively. Johnny Depp will also return to portray Gellert Grindelwald after making a surprise appearance as the dark wizard in the first "Fantastic Beasts" movie.

Fans can look forward to seeing a young Albus Dumbledore, whose complicated relationship with Grindelwald will be explored in the sequel. The role will be played by Jude Law. Newt's brother, Theseus, will also make an appearance. He will be portrayed by Callum Turner.

Other returning characters include Credence (Ezra Miller), Jacob (Dan Fogler), and Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz), who only appeared in a photo in the first film.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" will premiere on Nov. 16, 2018.
