'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' News: Harry Potter Prequel to Resemble 'Goblet of Fire'
Those who have read the books and seen the movies know very well that the ending is just the beginning, and just when the flames of Harry Potter's final battle started to die, a prequel was announced, much to the excitement of fans.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will revolve around the adventures of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he embarks on a journey of interacting with magical creatures. What's new about the prequel is that it is said to be closely related to "Goblet of Fire."
Producer David Heyman told Entertainment Weekly that the said movie, while laid down in the hands of David Yates, will be resembling the adventures of Harry and his friends in the fourth movie in the franchise.
"Goblet of Fire" was helmed by Mike Newell, and with Yates entering the picture, it might come as a little bit of a doubtful scene for fans since it would be difficult to find the resemblance between the two movies that come from different directors.
However, Heyman clarified that Newell made the characters depict that of an Indian musical — with all the humor and romantic comedy, and it turns out Yates will be following the same path. "[Fantastic Beasts has] got the charm of the fourth. It's like the fourth," he said.
Potter fans know that "Goblet of Fire" showed the human side of Harry and his friends, particularly allowing them to explore their young hearts and at the same time giving them enough emotional prowess to face dark forces that blocked their way.
While it is yet unclear if Yates will really be integrating some of the "romantic comedy" into the upcoming movie, fans should be pleased with the news that the director will keep the legacy going, as promised by Heyman.
Meanwhile, Heyman also said in the same interview that there will be "darkness" in the story line. This is, of course, expected of all movies in the franchise and could possibly mean that production is brewing something big in terms of villains for the prequel.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is slated for release on Nov. 18, 2016.
