As for her husband, Ed Blomquist will be played by Plemons. He is an assistant to a butcher, while still supporting his wife's dreams.
During the 2015 Summer Television Critics Association press tour, Dunst shared details about how she prepared for the role. She said, "When I read the first few episodes, I was thinking to myself that I want people to giggle just a little bit to themselves when they see Peggy. I want them to be on Peggy's side in a way. I knew certain things, like wearing white earmuffs when I do something that's not necessarily right. I want you to giggle when you see Peggy."
Another character featured in the teasers was a younger version of Lou Solverson, played by Patrick Wilson. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he shared that he was grateful for the creator and showrunner of Fargo Noah Hawley. Wilson explained that the way Hawley was able to vision and execute the show was epic, especially with the help of his great team of writers. As an anthology series, Fargo will begin its new season with a new cast and new story that takes place in a different era. The second season will be set in 1979, focusing on Lou Solverson as a state police officer. He will tackle crimes surround a gang and crime syndicate. Wilson will be joined by Danson from CSI, who will portray the role of Hank Larsson, while Jean Smart plays Floyd Gerhardt.
Hawley shared details on how the series will be tackled, compared to the previous season. He said, "The look of it is much different. I found my way to '70s filmmaking paradigms. I had a much bigger cast [this year], and I wanted to keep track of all of them .I didn't just want the year to be the backdrop against which we did the story. I wanted to find the way that we experience America at the moment and turn it into a crime story."
Fargo season 2 is expected to premiere on FX this Oct. 12.
