'Fargo' Season 3: Teaser Clips Flood Twitter; Premiere Review Positive
"Fargo" season 3 is only two weeks away, and FX has been releasing promos left and right in anticipation for the premiere. The most recent one involves Ewan McGregor's Ray Stussy.
The promo starts out with Ray carrying a box as he makes his way through the snow-covered street. He sees Michael Stuhlbarg's Sy Feltz literally pointing his finger at him and continuing to do so even as he drives away. When he moves his car, Ray sees that his dusty red car has been clamped down and he reacts accordingly.
A quick look at the official Twitter account of "Fargo" sees posters and clips being posted almost every day. A few days ago, a short 30-second clip was released and viewers saw snippets of scenes, some of which were previewed in the extended trailer.
The extended trailer features a longer look at what the third season has in store for viewers. Carrie Coon's Gloria Burgle takes care of her son by herself while simultaneously juggling her job as the police chief. Emmit Stussy's position as the Parking Lot King of Minnesota is also mentioned, and he may be dealing with some shady people. Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Nikki Swango can be heard encouraging Ray, with whom she apparently is in a relationship with, and the two can be seen playing competitive bridge.
Emmit and Ray's relationship is also previewed as the latter reminds his brother that he still owes him for something that happened a long time ago. This dynamic is further explored in a separate 20-second clip that features the two Stussys in Emmit's office. Ray unconvincingly congratulates Emmit on his success, and their exchange is clearly awkward. However, the similarities between them are stark.
Fans are undoubtedly excited for the upcoming season, especially since Entertainment Weekly gave the premiere episode a highly positive review, grading it with an "A" and calling it "fantastic."
"Fargo" season 3 premieres on April 19 at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
