'Fargo' Season 3: New Teaser Trailer Showcases Characters
FX has been teasing the upcoming third season of "Fargo" with short clips for a while now. And recently, the network released a 30-second video introducing the season's cast of characters.
The clip starts out with Carrie Coon's character, Gloria Burgle, driving a police car with a co-worker. They talk about the autopsy of a victim who had his nose and mouth glued shut. It then shifts to the introduction of the characters, starting with Gloria, the divorced police chief of the Minnesota town.
It shifts to Michael Stuhlbarg, who plays Sy Feltz, Emmit Stussy's right-hand man. "Believe me, I'm a lawyer," his character says in the clip. Next is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is sporting a new accent as she says "unfathomable pinheadery" to an unseen man. Winstead plays cunning parolee Nikki Swango. David Thewlis is briefly shown as his character, V.M. Vargas, an enigmatic loner.
Finally, Ewan McGregor is seen as his two roles, brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. Both characters were previously previewed separately in other clips. The stark differences between Emmit and Ray are clear as day. Emmit, the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, is the more handsome and successful sibling. Ray, on the other hand, is a chubby and balding parole officer. Ray also blames his brother, who has a full head of hair, for his failures.
Rounding out the cast are Jim Gaffigan, Scott McNairy, Karan Soni, Fred Melamed and Thomas Mann. Gaffigan plays local police deputy Donny Mashman, while McNairy plays a stoner with a criminal past. Soni, Melamed and Mann portray Dr. Homer Gilruth, Howard Zimmerman and Thaddeus Mobley, respectively.
Executive producer Warren Littlefield previously said that season 3 is going to be more intimate since it has a smaller set of cast members. Character development is also something that will be heavily focused on.
"Fargo" season 3 premieres April 19 on FX.
