'Fargo' Season 3 Release Date, Plot News: FX Releases New Teaser Titled 'AC'

With only a little over a month left of waiting until the premiere of the highly anticipated third season of "Fargo," FX is in full marketing mode, having released two short teasers online.

The first teaser was released last week on Feb. 23. Titled "Bang," the clip only showed a giant inflatable cartoon Santa Claus situated in the middle of a Minnesota neighborhood. The roofs that surround the balloon are covered in snow in the bright daylight. In the background, the sound of a loud wind breezing through and, presumably, two people having a fist fight can be heard. However, their fight soon turns more violent as gunshots follow. The two shots hit the giant Santa Claus, causing it to slowly deflate as a painful wheezing sound escapes the balloon.

The second teaser, titled "AC," was released more recently--on March 2, in fact. It starts out in a room with a curtained air conditioner ostensibly turned on. The room is dark and feels empty. On the right side, there is what looks to be a scarf perched on some sort of furniture with one blue stiletto shoe accompanying it. On the left side is an off-center lamp shade with what appears to be a bag hanging on it. The camera zooms in slowly at first, but then picks up speed as it moves closer to the AC unit. As it zooms in, the inside of the air conditioner is briefly seen before it shows a wintry outdoor scene at night.

Fans are undoubtedly excited for the new season of the FX anthology series. This season stars Ewan McGregor as brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy--the former of whom is more successful than the latter. As previously reported, season 3 will feature some callbacks to past cycles, but it will also focus on a lot of character development.

"Fargo" season 3 premieres on Wednesday, April 19, at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
