'Fast and Furious 8' Cast News: Line-Up Doesn't Include Paul Walker's Brothers

"The Fast and the Furious" 8 may no longer feature late cast member Paul Walker's brothers, despite rumors that Cody Walker will return to the franchise to play a new character.

When actor Paul Walker died in a tragic accident during a break in the "Fast and Furious 7" shooting, the producers were able to find a way to end the story smoothly. They let Walker's brothers Cody and Caleb Walker stand in for him as Brian O'Connor in some scenes, since they had already shot the other scenes with the late actor. Now, a rumor surfaced about Cody returning to "Fast and Furious 8," according to Movie Web.

The rumor says Cody will come back to the franchise, but this time, he will have his own character. However, Universal Pictures quickly debunked this rumor and said no such thing will happen, the report relays.

Earlier, Cody's name appeared on the IMDB page of "Fast and Furious 8," sparking speculations that he will be part of the sequel. However, his name was taken down after some time, the report details.

Also, Universal Vice Chairman Ron Meyer previously said Paul's character would not be included in the next movies. However, he hinted that there is a possibility that he will still appear in flashbacks or in some other representation.

Another report says one of the confirmed settings for the movie is New York City. Cast member Vin Diesel sort of leaked the information by posting a photo showing a poster for "Fast and Furious 8" with the city in the background, Enstars reports.

What is known is that the "Fast and Furious" 8 crew will be shooting in Iceland this spring. There are also reports that they are planning a shoot in Cuba, but this information has not yet been confirmed, the report adds.

"Fast and Furious 8" is set to premiere in theaters on Apr. 14, 2017.
