'Fast and Furious' News: Vin Diesel Bent on Getting Justin Lin to Helm 'Fast and Furious 10'

While "Fast and Furious 10" is still five years away, Vin Diesel already has his mind set on what he wants to happen for the final "Fast and Furious" story, at least, on who he wants to helm it.

According to a report of Coming Soon, Diesel is bent on bringing back director Justin Lin to direct the closing story of the franchise, reasoning that it has always been him and the director who do the brainstorming about the planned movie whenever they have time. As for the part of the director, he claimed that the actor has been very persuasive in talking him into to take on the directorial job, even telling him to finish what he has started.

As of this writing, "Fast and Furious 8" is under development under the directorial skills of Gary Gray. The movie is slated for an April 14, 2017 and will open a new trilogy that will be tackled until it concludes via "Fast and Furious 10."

However, according to a report of Wired, there is a good chance for Lin to return and direct the franchise via "Fast and Furious 10." After all, his directorial expertise contributed to making "Fast and Furious" movies a resounding commercial success, especially its third to sixth installments, which he directed.

Lin currently has his hands tied to his other directorial assignments. Apart from having been tapped to direct the reboot of "Space Jam," which will feature NBA superstar Lebron James, he is reported to be busy with the finishing touches for "Star Trek," which is scheduled to hit the theaters on July 22.

Meanwhile, many of the original cast of the "Fast and Furious" movies are reprising their roles for "Fast and Furious 8." Apart from Diesel, the movie will once again feature Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Lucas Black.

The movie will also feature Charlize Theron as its main antagonist.
