'Fast & Furious 9' Premiere Delay News: Vin Diesel Reacts to Tyrese Gibson Rant; Says It's 'Unfair' to Blame Anyone

The feud among the cast members of the "Fast & Furious" franchise has gotten more indiscreet following the delay of the premiere of the ninth movie installment. And recently, Vin Diesel jumped in to say it would be unfair to blame the setback on anyone.

To the "Fast & Furious" fans not caught up with the latest updates on the franchise, it was confirmed last week that the ninth installment's release would be pushed back to 2020 instead of 2019.

Shortly after the news was confirmed, one of the main cast members of the franchise, Tyrese Gibson, went on social media to rant about the premiere's delay and implied Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had something to do with it.

In a bold social media statement, Gibson tagged Johnson in an Instagram post with a mocking congratulations message for "making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU." It was accompanied by the announcement photo that said the "Fast & Furious 9" movie would instead premiere on 2020.

Gibson also mentioned Seven Bucks Production -- a company that Johnson co-founded -- that was allegedly delaying the making of the movie.

Shortly after Gibson's controversial post, Diesel addressed the issue with a social media post on his own page. While he did not directly address Gibson's message, Diesel clearly told fans: "I know there has been a lot of speculation as to why the Fast 9 release date was pushed... but it would be unfair to say it is anyone's fault."

The message was placed as a caption of a photo of Diesel and Johnson from an earlier "Fast & Furious" film when the latter took the role of Hobbs. For that matter, reports were quick to assume that the Instagram post was made to defend Johnson.

While Diesel did not provide a specific answer as to why the movie was delayed, he likened the situation to a car and said: "Like any vehicle that has run around the globe 8 times, the franchise is in need of maintenance. My good friend and the godfather of Universal, Ron Meyer has granted me the time to do just that."

On the other hand, Johnson has yet to react on the social media posts provided by his co-stars.

"Fast & Furious 9" is currently slated to premiere on April 10, 2020.
