'Fastest Finger First' Episode 12 Spoilers: Will Shiki's Quiz Bowl Adventures End in Upcoming Finale?
The final episode of the Japanese sports anime series "Fastest Finger First" is coming up, and the increasingly intense Asagaoka Quiz Bowl Meet is about to end as well. But will this really be the end of Shiki's journey towards becoming a Quiz Bowl King?
Shiki has sure been through a lot, from a junior high freshman who only wanted to be a class librarian, to a bona fide quiz bowl addict. With every competition he goes to, he manages to learn something new about the art buzzing and to figure out the questions faster than everyone else.
This week's episode ended on a cliffhanger and left both Shiki and his rival, Mikuriya's fate in the ongoing quiz bowl on the line. Fans believe that both of them may be able to answer the question correctly, but will this be enough for either one of them to win the third round?
Either way, Shiki will have gained enough experience to help him decide whether to pursue quiz bowl as his true blue passion. Then again, there is also the possibility that he may begin to realize that his interest in quiz bowl may be nothing but a passing phase.
Moreover, the upcoming finale still has a lot of grounds to cover, like the issue that got Sasajima and Mari's brother at odds with each other. There is also the matter of the cross-dressing Akira and his seeming determination to grate at Shiki's nerves. What does he really want and what other shenanigans will he be willing to pull off in upcoming quiz bowl competitions?
The anime series may be ending its first 12-episode run, but fans are hoping that there will be a second season in the future. However, others believe that with the show's not-so-stellar ratings, a follow-up season may just be hard to come by.
There is currently no official announcement regarding this matter.
"Fastest Finger First" airs on Tuesdays late night at 1:59 a.m. JST on Nippon TV. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
