Father Sings Crying Baby Girl to Sleep With Sweet Performance of 'Hallelujah' (VIDEO)
Parents will try just about anything to get their babies to sleep: unnecessary trips in the car, straightjacket-like instances of swaddling and white-noise machines that emulate anything from a gentle breeze to a jet engine's roar.
D.E. Wittkower takes a different, sweeter approach. With his daughter Ada wailing in a baby carrier, Wittkower sings "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen on a ukelele.
Ada can't resist the soothing power of her favorite song and not only calms down, but settles into a soft snooze. Wittkower reports that she stayed asleep for nine hours, an unexpected blessing for the sleep-deprived family.
