FC Barcelona News: Neymar's release clause increased amidst talk of a move away

Neymar is part of a deadly attacking force for Barcelona.

After numerous rumors linking one of their biggest stars away from Barcelona, the Camp Nou club recently made a move that could keep Neymar with the Catalan club for good.

Reports have surfaced that the Barcelona hierarchy will offer the Brazilian star a five-year contract that has a corresponding wage increase that should restrict any team from trying to lure him away on a move.

Furthermore, talks have risen that Neymar's new release clause will be level with current star Lionel Messi at €250 million.

This simply means that any team that wants to bring the attacker to their squad should pay a hefty amount for the 23-year-old.

Manchester United have been linked with Neymar in the recent weeks and though many critics believe that this move is made from pure speculation, Barcelona are not taking any chances with Neymar.

One of the sides that other people are trying to let Neymar know is that as long as he is with the Catalan club, he will always play second fiddle to Messi and that may spark discontent in the attacking force in Barcelona with Neymar teaming with Messi and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.

Since his move from Brazilian club Santos for €57 million, Neymar has enjoyed two full seasons at Camp Nou.

He has scored a total of 31 goals in the Spanish La Liga alone, and is looking to build off their triumphant campaign last year where the team won the treble with the La Liga, Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League crown.

Early in the year, Neymar also helped the team win their first title of the seaons with a UEFA Super Cup triumph.

Barcelona are currently locked in a transfer ban that expires in January 2016 which means they cannot field in new players – making a decision to let go of Neymar all the more impossible.
