In the forthcoming episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" titled "Not Fade Away," the official synopsis reads, Madison and Travis see different sides of the National Guard's occupation in their neighborhood; the family tries to adapt to the new world.
In the promos for the episode, it seems that the military will become the villains of the series. There will be dissent between the survivors and the military, and the presence of the military force will be the source of contention for Travis and Madison. However, Madison and Travis might fight over Nick, her drug addict son. Madison will witness a brutal killing done by the military in the neighborhood as she hides under a car.
The third episode began in the besieged barbershop were Travis, Liz, and Chris took shelter after a riot downtown and with them are the barber Daniel and his family. The outside is filled with looters, and Chris peered through the shutters. Chris caught the eye of a walker as a fire forced everyone to flee. Daniel's wife gets injured and Travis carried her to his truck.
Travis raced to the nearest hospital seeking medical attention for Daniel's wife Griselda only to discover that it was a war zone. Meanwhile, at the Clark home, Madison played a game of Monopoly with her kids.
Things got hairy when Peter, one of Madison's undead neighbors, chased a dog into their house. Madison and her kids ran to another house, in order to get a shotgun. Then, Travis returned and the family sees that Peter has eaten the dog.
Daniel acted quickly and he shot the walker using the shotgun. The entire group paired off in candlelit rooms. Madison talked to Liz in one room, while Daniel still insisted on doing his own thing.
The episode ended with the military's arrival as they took command of the entire neighborhood. Travis hugged Madison at the arrival of the so-called cavalry.
