'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2: Strand's Developing Storyline Explained by Executive Producer Dave Erickson

After the dramatic episode of the AMC series "Fear The Walking Dead," fans are waiting to know more about the mysterious character Strand.

Strand, played by Colman Domingo, was introduced near the end of "Fear The Walking Dead." He was able to get the group to shelter and away from Los Angeles via his yacht named Abigail. Until the last episode of "Fear The Walking Dead," fans did not know a lot about the character, except that he was a constant opposition to Madison, played by Kim Dickens.

However, the most recent episode of "Fear The Walking Dead" season 2, titled "Blood On The Streets," allowed fans to get to know Strand's background. The executive producer of the series, Dave Erickson, explained the process of developing Strand's storyline.

He explained that they decided to show Strand's past in order to show his motivation and drive as a character. According to Melty, he said, "It's really a story about him in a position where he thinks he's going to die. His raft is going down, hypothermia is beginning to set in, and it's him remembering what got him there, and it's also laying track for what's to come down the road."

In addition, he also explained that the situation will then allow Madison to get to know Strand in a deeper level. The previous episodes showed the two constantly in contrasting beliefs on morality. However, Erickson stated, "This is an indication of a more emotional side to this guy. And seeing that side of him, you begin to better understand his relationship as it develops with Madison moving forward, because we will see a friendship growing between the two of them."

With that, fans should expect to see more development in Strand's storyline as well as his relationship with Madison.

"Fear The Walking Dead" season 2 airs on AMC every Sunday nights.
