Fellowship of Christian Athletes Announces New President

Veteran NFL football coach Les Steckel will assume the presidency of FCA on March 1, 2005.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes has announced Les Steckel, a veteran NFL football coach and former member of FCA’s National Board of Trustees, as the next president of the ministry. He will succeed current FCA President Dal Shealy, who has served in that position for 13 years, on March 1, 2005.

In an FCA article reporting Steckel’s appointment, Steckel said, “I am humbled and honored to have been chosen to be the next president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“In Dal Shealy’s tenure over the last 13 years, the ministry has experienced tremendous growth far beyond most expectations. As he passes the baton on March 1, 2005, he will leave a legacy of integrity and servanthood. With God’s guidance and grace, I will do the same,” he said.
