Fergie Baby Name: Black Eyed Peas Singer Names Son Axl Jack Duhamel
Singer Fergie and her actor husband Josh Duhamel welcomed the birth of a baby boy on Thursday, reports confirm.
The Black Eyed Peas singer, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, and Duhamel, 40, reportedly underwent a C-section in a Los Angeles hospital and baby Axl Jack Duhamel weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz. Both mother and son are believed to be doing well, according to People magazine.
"It's very exciting … [It's] unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine,'" Duhamel told People about becoming a father back in February.
Fergie, 38, recently expressed her excitement about becoming a first time mom during an interview with "Good Morning America."
"We're thrilled! I know that my husband told everybody what I said. My quote when we found out [was] 'This s--- just got real,'" Fergie joked to ABC's Lara Spencer ahead of the birth.
"But it's true, when that moment occurs to you, there's going to be a human being growing inside of you … it's reality," she continued. "It's amazing, we're thrilled."
The "Fergalicious" singer confirmed her pregnancy in March during which she shared details about suffering morning sickness. Reports claim she used acupuncture, Chinese herbs and water to overcome nausea.
"I'm feeling great, I had a little bit [of morning sickness] in the beginning," she said. "But very little."
The new mom admitted that while she and Duhamel are eager to become parents, she is not fully prepared.
"I have no idea what I'm doing!" Fergie revealed. "I'm just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in."
In 2009 Fergie met Duhamel and married the actor after five years of dating. In recent weeks, reports confirmed that the singer filed to legally change her name to Fergie Duhamel, according to TMZ.com.
The website claims Fergie is changing her name to "conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years."
