'Feud' Season 1 Episode 4: Bette and Joan Prepare for Their Film's Release

The upcoming episode of "Feud" season 1 will see Bette (Susan Sarandon) and Joan (Jessica Lange) preparing themselves for the release of their movie, "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?"

The synopsis of the new episode, titled "More, or Less," states that the release of "Baby Jane" will be jeopardized by bad word-of-mouth. Because of this, Bette and Joan ready themselves for the film's failure.

Meanwhile, Pauline (Alison Wright) attempts to challenge gender blocks. And, finally, the nominations for the 35th Academy Awards are announced.

A teaser trailer for the next episode has also been released. It starts out with Joan worrying about her status as "box office poison" coming back. Bette points out that Hollywood is run by men, "and the boys are not polite." Bob is concerned that the film will tank, saying that they will also go down with the movie if it fails.

The clip also features Bette taking a bow in front of an applauding audience. When asked where her co-star is, Bette replies that she is "on the beach...dead," referencing Joan's character, Blanche, in the film.

Meanwhile, here is a recap of the previous episode, titled "Mommie Dearest."

Both Bette and Joan struggled with familial problems, particularly concerning their children. The two rivals also shared a moment of vulnerability when they confided in each other. Joan had always longed to be loved, while Bette revealed her close relationship with her mother. Bette also managed to snag a role for B.D. (Kiernan Shipka) in the film.

It was revealed that Bette's other daughter, Margot, was diagnosed as mentally retarded, which is why she had been sent off to a special school in Maine. And the end of the episode saw Bette looking downtrodden as she spoke on the phone with Margot, who subsequently left after getting distracted.

Joan, on the other hand, missed her children when she came home to an empty house. And while she tried to explore the possibility of adopting, she was told that she was already too old for that.

"Feud" season 1 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
