Fieri Skit on SNL: Food Network's Guy Fieri vs. New York Times (VIDEO)
A recent SNL spoof poking fun at Food Network star Guy Fieri was released after the skit failed to make it on the show.
Fieri recently responded to a New York Times article that criticized his Time Square restaurant called Guy's American Kitchen and Bar. "GUY FIERI, have you eaten at your new restaurant in Times Square?" the New York Times reviewer poised in the first sentence of the review.
While appearing on the Today Show, the celebrity chef, who co-owns five other restaurants in California, charged the writer with having a double agenda.

"To me, it's impossible to come in and have a dining experience and have every single thing is wrong, unless you come in with a different agenda and you want to sensationalize something and you want to blow it out of the water," Fieri said on the show. "It's a great way to make a name for yourself- go after a celebrity chef that's not a New Yorker that's doing big concept in his second month. Great way to hit it."
The material of the argument seemed appropriate, of course, for a Saturday Night Live spoof. But while Bobby Moynihan put on his flaming shirt and went through with the skit, it never made it on television. It was, however, released on the NBC site and has received rave reviews. In the skit, Moynihan mimics Fieri with Seth Meyers.
The fake Fieri appears happy until he learns that the New York Times has given his restaurant a poor review.
"It is the New York Times, you didn't think they'd like your restaurant, did you?" Meyers asked.
"No, but did they think they would like it?" he replied. "I wear flames on my shirt and I don't bleach my roots. That doesn't exactly scream haute cuisine. It screams look out, a maniac is about to hit you with a face full of donkey sauce."
"If you come in expecting Le Cirque, you're a jerk," he added.
