FIFA 14 Xbox One Crashes Explained by EA Games, Update Fixes on the Way

EA Games has clarified the loading up problems with its game, FIFA 14, following numerous complaints by gamers recently of frequent crashes.

The company announced the booting up crash may be due in part because two controllers are connected.

"Using two separate controllers, both assigned to user profiles, and then using controller two to navigate the bootflow when FIFA 14 is loading can result in a crash. The FIFA dev team will be fixing this issue as soon as possible (shortly after launch) but, in the meantime and as a workaround: please only use controller one to navigate the bootflow of FIFA 14. You can turn on and use the controller two once in the main menu," EA posted on its support site.

Another issue concerns leaving the console for an extended period of time while on the title screen. If the game is loaded up, and a player then stops playing and allows the console to go on sleep mode, when they return the online features seem not to work.

"If you suspend the console (leave it inactive until it 'sleeps') on the title screen in the Xbox One bootflow, you will not be able to access any online features when returning from an unsuspended state. As a workaround: don't suspend the console when on the title screen. If you do, simply restart the console (XB1 Only)," EA posted.

EA said there is an update on the way for Xbox One users with even more improvements and fixes for smaller issues including, Co-op Season crashes, Kinect voice controls, and camera fixes.

Other gamers have also complained of smaller glitches, such as a funny comment by user ibuzz7s, who said on Polygon: "How about the invisible ball glitch? First game online and surprise, players are kicking thin air!"

FIFA 14 came out for the Xbox One on November 22, the PS4 on Nov. 15, and the last-gen consoles in September.
