'Fifty Shades Darker' Update: Jamie Dornan Delays Production to Spend Time With Family
It seems like the movie sequel "Fifty Shades Darker" will not make it to its expected premiere date as reports of a delay in production have surfaced once again. According to Melty, there is a possibility that the highly anticipated follow up to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie will not be finished in time for its February 2017 release date because the lead actor, Jamie Dornan, is asking for some time off.
The source reported that Dornan wants to spend time with his family first before starting with the production. His wife, Amelia Warner, is reportedly pregnant with their second child and he wants to be there to welcome his youngest child.
Also, as detailed by Inquisitr, Dornan has been very busy with his Hollywood life. After gaining popularity worldwide for his role in the first part of E. L. James' trilogy, the actor has been packed with three different films which are all going to be released in the coming year. He has also been attending all of the red carpet and promotional events for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise.
Dornan's busy schedule has already taken its toll on him and it appears that he just wants to slow down his pace a little bit. But his decision to take some time off will also mean that production for "Fifty Shades Darker" will be delayed which is supposed to start right after New Year.
This isn't the first time though that the movie has gone through a production hurdle. Previous reports revealed that the film had a change of director issue. Fortunately, that was resolved with James Foley taking over the director's chair.
However, the film has no casting director yet which means the additional characters of the sequel are not yet filled in. Characters that have not been casted yet include Leila Williams, Jack Hyde, Mrs. Robinson and Elena Lincoln.
