'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' News: Producer Yoshinori Kitase Provides Progress Update, Hints at One Aspect of Development Nearing Completion

Still no release date currently set for the 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake'

Developers have begun to share more details about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" this year, with new images related to the game being made available just recently. And now, producer Yoshinori Kitase has shared some more news.

Speaking recently to Dengeki PlayStation, Kitase provided an update related to where the game is at currently, Gematsu reported.

According to Kitase, the voice actors who are working on the game are nearly done recording for the main story.

This is a potentially significant development, as voice recording for the game being nearly finished can be a pretty good indicator that it may also be moving closer to completion.

So does this mean that more significant details about the remake, and perhaps even a release date for its first installment may be announced soon?

For now, at least, fans may want to temper their expectations when it comes to those matters.

Earlier this year, director Tetsuya Nomura talked about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" during an interview with Famitsu, and a translation of that conversation was also provided by Gematsu.

Nomura was asked about where both games were in the development process during that interview, and according to the director, it may still be a while before the remake and "Kingdom Hearts 3" are released.

That admittedly vague timeline likely still applies to where the remake's development is at currently, and even voice recording being nearly completed is unlikely to change things that much.

At the very least, developers have begun to talk even more about the remake this year, especially in comparison to last year when hardly any new details were shared.

Fans may still have to wait a long time before they can play the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," but they may be able to hear more about it more frequently as this year continues.
