'Final Fantasy IX' Arrives For iOS And Android, Requires Powerful Hardware
Square Enix's hit role-playing video game "Final Fantasy IX" has finally made its way to mobile devices. According to a report by PC Mag, the game is now available on iOS and Android. Those who are interested can get it now for only $17 through the App Store and Google Play. But fans will have to be quick though because after Feb. 21, the price of the game will increase by 20 percent. Luckily, there will be no additional fees or in-app purchases.
As for the hardware requirements, the game will need a decent and powerful enough mobile device in order for it to run and perform smoothly. According to the report, the size of the mobile version of "Final Fantasy IX" is 4 GB. At least 8 GB of free space must be available in order to start downloading it. The game remake also requires the device's operating system to be iOS 7.0 or Android 4.1 at minimum.
"Final Fantasy IX" isn't the first remake for mobile by Square Enix. According to Tech Radar, the game developer company has already released revamped mobile versions of Final Fantasy IV, V, VI and VII. But what makes the ninth installment different than the rest is that it is built specifically for the mobile platform.

Touch Arcade noted that the user interface (UI) of "Final Fantasy IX" has been recreated from scratch, making use of the enhanced resolution and touch capabilities.
There are also new features including an automatic save function and the ability to customize the speed of play. There's also a feature that allows players to totally avert random enemy encounters from taking place. This is specifically helpful for those who don't need to level-up at the moment and want to skip the monotony of working their characters through levels.
The game also comes with "high-definition movies and character models," and achievements. Fans should also watch out for the remake to arrive on Steam soon.
