'Final Fantasy VII' HD Remake is Coming With A Bonus – 'World of Final Fantasy'

Final Fantasy VII, considered as one of the best role-playing video games ever made, is coming back for an HD remake, as announced by Square during Sony's press briefing at the E3 2015, after almost 18 years since the original game was released. The game is also one of the best-selling games for the original PlayStation.

The game is finally coming to the next generation console, the PlayStation 4, although no release date has been set yet. This is after so many years of speculation and rumors that there is actually a high-definition remake coming. The report called the game "one of the system's prettiest games yet," based on the trailer that was shown at the E3.

Square Enix said in an official press release that they have "begun production" on the remake, which means it may be arriving later in 2016 or even 2017.

"Final Fantasy VII" was originally released in 1997 for the first generation PlayStation. Versions for PC and the PlayStation Network were subsequently released. The latest version was released on Steam in 2013. In 2014, speculations started going around that there was a version being developed for the PS4.

The PS4 version will be followed by other versions for other consoles and platforms. Because of this, the report mentioned that this will introduce Japanese role-playing games to another generation of gamers, much like what it did when it was first released in 1997.

With this news about a better-looking "Final Fantasy VII" coming out, also came news that it will not be the only game released for the "Final Fantasy" video game franchise this year. A new game called "World of Final Fantasy" will also be released sometime in 2016. It is an entirely new game and features characters and monsters that are much smaller in size – in fact, micro-sized. The characters are said to have the ability to change sizes in the game. The game's trailer, however, does not reveal much beyond this.
