Final Fantasy VII to Be Released for the PC With Exciting Extras
Square Enix will release a new downloadable version of Final Fantasy VII for the PC later on this year.
The company announced the game earlier today, and this PC version will allow "players to relive the award-winning story and share their experiences with friends," according to Square's press release.
New features for the game include cloud saves and a game editor that lets players maximize characters' health, magic and money. It will also have an in-game achievement system that will allow players to explore various facets of the game and share progress with friends on the internet.

Final Fantasy VII for the PC will launch in 2012 in order to commemorate Final Fantasy's 25th anniversary. The first installment of the popular RPG series was released for the NES in 1987 and was followed by 12 sequels and many different spin-offs.
Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997 for the original PlayStation and is arguably the finest and most critically acclaimed offering in the series.
The game's story follows the now infamous rivalry between Cloud and Sephiroth as they fight to decide the fate of their world.
It features a great collection of musical scores and is regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time.
Final Fantasy VII spawned many spin-offs including the 2005 CGI film titled Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, a role-playing game released for the PlayStation Portable in 2007.
The Final Fantasy series consists of stand-alone adventures, which means that even though the Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy XIII are connected by their numbers as sequels, each title takes place in a completely different universe with a completely different story with the game play slightly altered. The only Final Fantasy games that have direct sequels are FFX and FFXIII.
