Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster: Release Date Pushed Back to March on PS3 (VIDEO)
Final Fantasy X and X-2 will be getting an HD remake for the PS3 on March 18 2014 in North America and on March 21 in Europe on the PlayStation Network.
Game developer Square Enix made the announcement today in a press release and said it will come in a single disc bundle pack that will have a standard and special limited edition. The special edition will include a 48-page art book that contains commentary and concept art, according do Polygon.
"PlayStation 3 owners can get both games in one single-disc bundle. Choose from the standard edition or a special Limited Edition version, which includes an exclusive to Europe and PAL territories 48-page art book showcasing an elegant collection of concept art from the games, along with commentary from the original FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 development teams, and a special message from Producer Yoshinori Kitase," said the gaming company in a press release.
According to Joystiq, the PS Vita version of the game along with the PS3 Japan release was still scheduled to arrive on Dec. 26, but a further announcement said Square Enix would reveal the date at a later time.
Initially the game was to be released this winter, but has since been delayed to the date its at now.
"Two of the most acclaimed FINAL FANTASY adventures of all time are back. Return to the world of Spira, the sport of Blitzball and fall in love with a cast of fan favourite characters including Tidus and Yuna, looking better than you've ever seen them before. The creators' original vision is stunningly realised with today's technology to deliver the definitive versions of these classic RPGs," the release said of the return.
Other features of the game are listed by Square Enix as well. The game will feature an updated soundtrack of over 60 of the original tracks remastered and arranged in audio HD. It will also include full trophy support between the PS3 and PS Vita, as well as continuation and crossover saving from the console onto the handheld as long as both versions of the game are had.
