'Final Fantasy XV' Active Time Report on January 2016: Square Enix to Provide More Details Plus Possible Release Date Around Same Time as 'Persona 5'
Square Enix has announced that it will reveal more details on its upcoming game, "Final Fantasy XV," next year. The announcement may or may not include release date information, but a recent survey from the Japanese company hints at a possible time window.
'Final Fantasy XV' Active Time Report on January 2016
Square Enix has announced via its official Twitter handles that it will be revealing more information about "Final Fantasy XV" during its Active Time Report, which is scheduled for January 2016.
"The next #FFXVATR is scheduled for the end of January 2016 on Square Enix Presents --> http://youtube.com/squareenixpresents …," Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XV" English Twitter account posted on Friday, Dec. 18.
The upcoming Active Time Report will include a new battle footage, Niflheim Empire, "and more." The presentation will air on Square Enix's YouTube channel. Active Time Report is a video broadcast series dedicated to "Final Fantasy," the last installment of which aired several months ago.
'Final Fantasy XV' release date hinted by survey
Square Enix is currently conducting a survey that is 50 questions long, according to DualShockers. In question #47, it asks people which between "Final Fantasy XV' or "Persona 5" they would purchase in the event that the two games launched at around the same time.
Given that "Persona 5" is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2016, while game director Hajime Tabata has only confirmed a 2016 release date for "Final Fantasy," it appears like Square Enix is soliciting for feedback from the market as it considers a launch window at around the same time.
"Final Fantasy XV" is a currently-in-development RPG title that is expected to release sometime next year for Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One. "Persona," on the other hand, is scheduled for a Japan release next summer for PS4 and PS3; a North American release is expected to follow later in the year.
