'Final Fantasy XV' Developer Talks About PC Version, DLC
Square Enix has wrapped up "Final Fantasy XV's" Uncovered event, but news about the upcoming game continues to pour in. Director Hajime Tabata recently talked to Japanese gaming publication Dengeki Online about the game's PC version and DLC.
"Final Fantasy XV" PC version
Dengeki Online asked Tabata if Square Enix had plans of releasing a PC version for "Final Fantasy XV." The game director replied it's under consideration, although nothing has been decided yet, reports GameSpot.

"If we had plans for a PC release, then we'd want to release it as closely as possible to the console versions," Tabata told the publication, as translated by Siliconera. "After release, we plan to do some research on a PC version while considering higher specs."
Back in February when the Uncovered event page was just newly set up, a fan found link placeholders for Steam and Windows 10 hidden in the Javascript. This led to speculations of a PC version but Square Enix removed the codes afterward.
"Final Fantasy XV" DLC
As for "Final Fantasy XV's" DLC, Tabata basically said the same thing as with the PC version. The game director told Dengeki Online that DLC, both free and paid, are under consideration but there are no final decisions yet.
"We are thinking about them. The objective is to have people that purchase Final Fantasy XV get to enjoy it for longer," Tabata told Dengeki Online. "There are free DLCs, and considering that production does have its costs, there are also some paid ones, too. However, the content has not been decided on yet."
GameRant believes the game's post-launch add-on content could include traditional expansion packs or cosmetic DLCs. In any case, DLC support will largely depend on how popular "Final Fantasy XV" will be. Square Enix previously said it aims to sell 10 million units of the game over its lifetime. If the company attains this goal, this would mean many DLCs for players.
"Final Fantasy XV" is slated to release on Sept. 30 to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix is expected to announce more details during E3 2016.
