'Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia': Game Gets Limited Edition Bundle for Nintendo 3DS

It seems like Nintendo is going full scale in rehashing some of its popularly known exclusive titles in 2017. Aside from "Super Mario Odyssey" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," the Japan-based gaming company is also invigorating the "Fire Emblem" universe with "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" coming to the Nintendo 3DS on May.

The game is a reimagining of "Fire Emblem Gaiden," which was originally released in Japan in 1992. As such, to commemorate its return and introduction to worldwide audiences, a limited edition bundle will be available on its launch date at a suggested retail price of $59.99. This will contain the game, an artbook, a Sound Selection CD, a Pin Set depicting the main characters, and a reversible cover sheet.

To shed more light on what makes the game unique, a new trailer is released, focusing on Alm and Celica, who once promised as kids that they will never fight against each other. Alm is now the leader of the Zofian Resistance, while Celica is a priestess heading her own army, with both having peace as their end goal.

What makes the game unique is how the player gets to lead both armies side by side, aiding them in attaining their goals. With switching armies comes varying experiences, thus there are a lot to do in the game, making it twice the fun.

Unlike other mainstream games, "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" employs a grid-based combat, making tactical strategies of utmost importance. Players are seen as 2D classic sprites on the overworld but quickly changes into 3D animations when dueling against an enemy piece.

For those who wish to find more challenge, the game also presents that with Classic and Casual modes. In Classic mode, fallen units remain dead, making every decision crucial. Casual mode, on the other hand, allows fallen units to rise again in the next chapter. The choice of gameplay is ultimately up to the player.

"Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" arrives on the Nintendo 3DS on May 19, 2017.
