'Fireball Humorous' Air Date, Spoilers: Short-Form CGI Anime Series to Feature More of Drossel and Butler Gedächtnis
The nationwide free BS TV station Dlife will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this year by releasing brand new CGI anime shorts in the "Fireball" anime series.
The said CGI shorts are produced by Jinni's Animation Studios and Wall Disney television International Japan. Hitoshi Fukuchi serves as the designer for the animated series that is entirely made in 3D sans cel-shading whatsoever, as is typical of this particular art medium.
There is little to no context in every episode that has been released in the past. Each story, however, takes place in a huge manor surrounded on all sides by what could only be presumed as a Robot-inhabited city. Beyond it is a desert, where human forces have been trying for years to encroach on this unidentified place's way of life.
The first "Fireball" series was released from April to June 2008, and a second one titled "Fireball Charming" was released from April to June 2011. Both seasons consisted of 13 short episodes written and directed by Wataru Arakawa.
These episodes featured snippets from the daily lives of Drossel and her butler named Gedächtnis. While Drossel is a robot who has been manufactured and designed in the likeness of a 14-year-old girl, Gedächtnis has been programmed with a 50-year-old man's mind.
Their exact ages have not been explicitly revealed, but they would at least be around 2.800 years old at the time. Throughout these years, Gedächtnis has stayed loyal to Drossel and has stayed by her side, owing to a promise he made to the girl's father.
Each season has a theme on which to base its episodes. This year, in celebration of Dlife's fifth anniversary, three new episodes have been scheduled for release under the title, "Fireball Humorous." Episodes only last for about five minutes each.
"Fireball Humorous" premieres on Friday, Oct. 6, at 9:55 p.m. JST. Each episode will be available monthly for three consecutive months.
