Dawn Michele of the Christian rock band Fireflight thanked fans for their prayers after celebrating the arrival of her first child this week.

The lead singer and her husband, fellow musician Matt Lott, welcomed their son Johnny Scott Danger Lott on Monday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Michele revealed that the baby boy weighed seven pounds, eight ounces and measured 19-and-a-half inches long before crediting prayers for his arrival.

"Meet Johnny Scott Danger Lott," Michele added. "This is the best day of my life! Your prayers made it possible. I love you all!"

Just days before Michele gave birth, Fireflight requested prayers from fans on social media along with a photo of the expectant singer.

"This lady is about to pop," the band wrote. "Please keep Dawn Michele and the baby in your prayers as they approach the big day! #fireflight #newadventures."

With news of Michele's baby this week, Fireflight will not resume their tour until May 5. However, the band is preparing for the release of their first album in over three years, Innova. Although the album is not yet available in stores, Innova has already produced a Number One song on the Billboard Christian Rock Chart – "Resuscitate," which continues to hold the top spot for its 12th consecutive week today.

Offering fans a further glimpse into what Innova will contain, the song "We Are Alive" was also released to radio recently. The second track off of Fireflight's new album taps into the band's heavy musical roots while tying in themes of community and the ability to build one another up.

Fireflight, which formed in 1999, is comprised of Michele, Wendy Drennen, Glenn Drennen and Adam McMillion. The Grammy-nominated group has played at ShoutFest, Revelation Generation, and Winter Jam and have also toured with Disciple, Family Force 5 and Decyfer Down.
