First glimpse of the 'Red Tornado' in the new 'Supergirl' series
Classic DC comic book fans will now see the "Red Tornado" appearing in the upcoming series "Supergirl." CBS just recently released some photo teasers of the comic book character on its website.
Red Tornado will be portrayed by "Salem" actor Iddo Goldberg. The character is described by CBS as "the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Red Tornado is designed by T. O. Morrow, a mad scientist, to be the "ultimate super weapon," against the U. S. Army's enemies. According to Entertainment Weekly (EW), Goldberg will appear as both Red Tornado and as the mad scientist creator of the android. The android will have the ability to create powerful winds, and also a member of the "Justice League" in the comic books.
However, the android suddenly becomes sentient, which makes him a grave threat to the National City. It is still not known whether the Red Tornado will be able to overcome his programming and become an ally to Supergirl, or if he'll be added to the Kryptonian heroine's list of enemies.
Another character that will be seen in the Supergirl series will be Lucy Lane, who will be played by Jenna Dewan Tatum. According to EW, this other Lane shares a past with James Olsen, who Lucy knows as Jimmy. The website said that she came to National City to "right a previous wrong" with Olsen.
Peter Facinelli, who is known as Carlisle Cullen from the "Twilight" series, will also join the show as a regular cast. He will play the tech billionaire Maxwell Lord. Lord was once a good friend of the Justice League, and one of their financiers, according to the comic books. It was later revealed that Lord is one of the Justice League's enemies, and it will be interesting to see him as one of Supergirl's enemies, too.
Supergirl will premiere on Oct. 26 on CBS.
