First-Person Shooter 'Superhot' Heading to Xbox One, Release Date Announced
First-person shooter video game "Superhot" is finally heading over to the Microsoft's platform. According to a report by Digital Trends, developer Superhot Team announced that their time-bending puzzle shooter game will be released on Xbox One starting May 3. The game is already available on PlayStation 4 and PC platforms via Steam.
Eurogamer reported that the game was supposed to hit the Microsoft console back in March. But due to certain circumstances, it got delayed. Nonetheless, "Superhot" is sure to come this time and Xbox One gamers can finally get their hands on it. The Xbox One edition of the game is also said to be the focal point of Team Superhot's development efforts. Fans will have to stay tuned as the team is planning on experimenting within the realm of VR following next week's release.
"We are constantly working on the Xbox One version of Superhot and doing secretive work on a bunch of grand VR plans," the studio said, as noted in Game Spot. "We can't tell you too much but Superhot in VR is going to be fun, oooh so much fun."
For those who are not in the loop yet, "Superhot" is an FPS minimalist first-person shooter with a broad pitch which is "time moves only when you move." However, it's not exactly accurate as Engadget said that even when the player is standing still, things around just move very slowly. But it's enough to freeze time at any point during gameplay. It also stops enemy attackers and freezes bullets in mid-air.
Aside from that, whenever time is frozen, players can come up with an alternate plan of attack against enemies. Gamers can also expect to go through levels that are packed with environmental objects and weapons that can be weaved together to produce stylish kills. The levels also get tougher which usually causes lots of gamers to get killed. There's also a survival-based Endless mode and a Challenge mode wherein gamers will go through the level with hand-to-hand combat.
