Jack Huston is taking the theater stage soon with his upcoming reboot film "Ben-Hur," which is based on the 1959 original film starred by Charlton Heston. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the first official trailer has been released already and it gave the public a sneak peek on what to expect in the remake.
As seen on the trailer, it featured the plot of the film which is about Judah Ben Hur. Born into a royal family, Ben Hur's fate is turned around after being falsely accused of treason by his own adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebell), who is a Roman army officer. He was removed from his position and was separated from his family and Esther (Nazanin Boniadi), the woman he loves, as he was exiled to become a slave.
But after years of traveling on sea and a sudden shipwreck, Ben Hur encountered Ilderim (Morgan Freeman), who later on became his mentor. He tells Ben Hur to take revenge against his brother through a chariot race instead of killing him directly. He then prepares him for the monumental race, seen on the trailer, which is going to be a deadly one.
Another interesting shot shown in the trailer is the appearance of Jesus. According to Breitbart, Ben Hur will cross paths with Jesus of Nazareth (Rodgrigo Santoro). The source noted that his life will be transformed and he will come across grace, mercy and redemption.
Coming Soon reported that the new film is going to have its own unique differences from the original film, revealed screenplay writer, John Ridley. He also mentioned that it is even going to be quite different from the original novel, "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ," which is authored by Lew Wallace in the 1880's.
