Five Iron Frenzy New Album and Tour Annonucement for 'Engine of a Million Plots' (VIDEO)
Christian ska and punk band Five Iron Frenzy is back after a 10 year absence with a new album, Engine of a Million Plots, which will be available for pre-sale at midnight MST on Oct. 29.
The album will be available on vinyl, CD and digital purchase, and with every preorder, a digital delivery of a new song will be sent to the buyer. Click here to purchase a pre-order copy and here for the single "Into Your Veins."
Five Iron Frenzy is back due in part to their successful Kickstarter project that made a history-raising seven times the asking goal. The fans stepped up big time and raised the goal amount in just an hour. They then continued to pledge raising more than $207,000.
The first of the newly recorded music was "Dark & Stormy Night" on Nov. 22, 2011 as a free download. The band then performed for the first time in eight years on April 28, 2012 in Denver to a sold out show. The new album will be released on Nov. 26.
"Making this record was more about making good art, it was about becoming a family again," said Five Iron Frenzy saxophonist Leanor Ortega-Till in a press release. "I listen and I think 'Wow! We did it! We finally made THE album we've always wanted to listen to.'"
Five Iron Frenzy began in 1995 with vocalist and lyricist Reese Roper, former bassist Keith Hoerig, guitarist Micah Ortega and lead songwriter Scott Kerr. They added Dennis Culp on trombone, Andrew Verdecchio on drums, Leanor Ortega-Till on saxophone, Nathanael Dunham on trumpet, and Sonnie Johnson on guitar.
