'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' theories for unresolved mysteries: Player is one of missing children?
Ever since "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" was released, gamers are introduced to a lot of mysteries regarding the gameplay. From the unexpected scares to the creepy animatronics, the game has really made the players curious for more. A lot of them have already made their own investigations, coming up with theories on the storyline behind the bedroom, pill bottle, IV rip and mini-games, according to Latin Post.
"Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a takeoff from the conventional series format in many ways. The most notable change in the game is that instead of playing as a security guard in an office defending against roaming animatronics, the main protagonist is a child in his/her bedroom countering twisted monster versions of the well-known Freddy characters.
According to a report by Kotaku, many gamers speculate that the character in the game is a patient hospitalized after the Bite of '87, which explains the pill bottle and the IV drip that is found in the game's bedroom. The fans came up with a theory that the character came from a severe condition or a coma. They also believe that the bedroom and lurking animatronics that are present in the house are merely hallucinations that the patient is going through. Other than that, if players try increasing the volume, they will be able to hear a sound of a heart monitor flat line. This leads gamers to theorize that the player's character is really hospitalized.
However, Latin Post wrote that a certain Reddit user named lupinoctourne disagrees with the theory of the character linked with the Bite of '87. He doesn't agree that the plot of FNF4 is connected to the Bite of '87 which was briefly mentioned in the first game. The Bite of '87 was an incident that happened in 1987 at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza wherein a victim lost the frontal lobe of his brain due to the unidentified animatronic.
lupinoctourne has his own theory which says the gameplay involves the Missing Children incident. He refers to the protagonist as a boy who was bit on a stage at the tail part of FNAF4, which he theorizes as the same stage in the final mini-game of "Five Nights at Freddy's 3." Remember the Purple Man? Reports say he is once again the antagonist throughout the "Five Nights at Freddy's" game. He is known to be accountable for the Missing Children incident as well as other murders as implied in the Death Mini-Games of FNAF2.
"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" was released earlier this summer and is now available to download on Steam, Android and iOS platforms.
